Dwyka Mining Services and Maestro Digital Mine Last Mile Solution Partnership for Ventilation on Demand

Dwyka Mining Services is bolstering its last mile connectivity, remote ventilation and environmental monitoring capability with Maestro Digital Mine, reiterating the Canadian technology provider as the leading global technology partner for data acquisition and ventilation on demand actuation.

Why Maestro Digital Mine

Maestro brings globally established hardware and software to a part of the VOD stack that has to work as an early warning system, not just a monitoring layer. Their ventilation and environmental monitoring suite is already running on mining operations around the world, which means we are deploying proven technology, not asking an African site to be the test case.

Last mile connectivity and remote ventilation monitoring are where a lot of VOD projects lose momentum. Maestro’s track record on global operations and recent successes on the African continent is what gives us confidence to bring new solutions from Maestro into the South African market.

What this unlocks: a holistic view of VOD

Monitoring on its own is not the win. The win is monitoring that drives action. Maestro Vigilante units and air quality stations give us the environmental data on the level and that data is what actuates louvers, dampers and other ventilation control infrastructure automatically.

This is what makes ventilation on demand a reality on site rather than a concept in a slide deck: real time air quality data, connected to control infrastructure, making decisions on the level without waiting on a person to act on a reading.

Early adoption partners earn that label by bringing technology that has already proven itself somewhere else in the world. Maestro has that track record. Vigilante and Zephyr Air Quality stations connected to Modudrive units give us the monitoring and actuation layer that VOD has needed, the piece that turns a sensor reading into an actuated louver or damper without a delay in between.

Jamie van Schoor, CEO, Dwyka Group

We have seen what works across mining operations globally and South Africa is ready for that same level of environmental monitoring and remote ventilation control. Partnering with Dwyka gives us a route into the market with a team that understands the deployment realities on the ground for underground scale.
