Technology
OctoPipe Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe (SRCP) brings together the pressure capability of steel with the light weight, flexibility and corrosion resistance of polyethylene. Designed for on-level paste fill reticulation, it provides a smooth, low-friction bore, faster installation and safer underground handling while coupling directly to the steel systems mines already operate.
Third-party burst testing has demonstrated a safety factor of up to three times the rated working pressure, while the lightweight grooved system can significantly reduce installation time and installed cost compared with a steel-only system.

Dwyka Mining Services is the exclusive distributor of OctoPipe™ SRCP and Schedule 80 steel paste pipe across Africa. Genuine high-pressure SRCP is produced by a limited number of manufacturers worldwide. Through direct OEM relationships, OctoPipe makes this specialised product more accessible and supports every shipment with independent quality assurance conducted by OctoPipe personnel at the point of manufacture.
The product range is supplied alongside Shurjoint XH-70EP high-pressure couplings and is also compatible with the Victaulic equivalent. These coupling systems have been used at major underground paste reticulation operations internationally, with references available on request.

Steel Wire Reinforced Composite Pipe for on-level paste fill reticulation
OctoPipe™ SRCP combines a smooth PE100 HDPE bore with high-tensile steel wire reinforcement and a corrosion-resistant outer PE100 layer. The result is a lightweight, low-friction pipe system engineered for underground paste and backfill distribution where installation speed, safety and long-term durability matter. Available in 160mm and 200mm sizes, with 3.5 MPa, 7 MPa, 10 MPa and 12MPa pressure options.
Schedule 80 Steel Pipe
Seamless carbon steel pipe for high-pressure paste fill applications
OctoPipe™ also supplies cut-grooved A106B Schedule 80 steel pipe for sections of the paste system where steel remains the preferred solution, including borehole trunk lines and high static head applications. Pipe is available in 160mm and 200mm sizes and supplied with machined grooves for compatibility with high-pressure couplings.

Extra heavy rigid grooved couplings for high-pressure paste fill systems
Shurjoint XH-70EP couplings are designed for demanding paste fill applications and are compatible with OctoPipe™ SRCP and steel pipe when EP cut-groove ends are used. They offer a high-pressure grooved connection standard across the reticulation system, helping mines simplify installation and maintenance while avoiding welding or hot work underground.

Quality Assurance
Pipe manufactured overseas is often released on the manufacturer’s own inspection. OctoPipe adds an independent quality-assurance layer at the point of manufacture. Our personnel inspect the product, witness testing and supervise packing and loading before shipment. A QA report is supplied with every shipment.
Dimensional Inspection
One pipe in every twenty is measured with calibrated instruments against a controlled drawing. A single non-conformance triggers further QA inspections.
Marking and Release
Every pipe carries its full part number. Batch-checked pipes receive QC stickers signed and dated by the inspector
Pressure and Burst Testing
Hydrostatic and burst testing is carried out at the manufacturing plant for each batch order and witnessed by OctoPipe personnel to confirm performance against the rated working pressure.
Loading Supervision
The shipment is reconciled against the packing list. Fabric slings, capped ends and strapped bundles are used to support safe unloading and product protection.

OctoPipe™ SRCP is ideally suited to on-level paste fill arm distribution, where reduced weight, fast installation and corrosion resistance provide a clear operational advantage. In these sections, the lower handling weight and grooved connection system help accelerate rollout while improving underground practicality.
For borehole trunk lines and high static head sections, Schedule 80 steel may remain the preferred solution depending on system design requirements. Because OctoPipe™ uses the same grooved coupling philosophy across SRCP and steel, mines can transition seamlessly between the two materials across the reticulation network.
